Report

We help companies develop value‑creating sustainability reporting that meets regulatory requirements, strengthens their brand, and supports their business in line with the company’s vision.

In a world where sustainability issues are business‑critical and expectations from customers, investors, and other stakeholders continue to rise, credible and well‑crafted sustainability reporting is essential. It is not only about meeting new regulatory requirements such as CSRD, it is about using reporting as a strategic tool to set direction, build trust, and drive transformation across the organization.

At 2050, we have extensive experience supporting companies with sustainability reporting that creates value both internally and externally. Our advisory services cover everything from materiality assessments and data analysis to structure, content, writing, and layout, always with the aim of delivering reports that make a real difference.

Sustainability Reporting
We provide advisory support and expertise to ensure your company’s reporting aligns with the strengthened EU‑wide requirements (CSRD and ESRS) or voluntary frameworks such as VSME, TNFD, and GRI. We have long experience in value‑creating sustainability reporting and are accustomed to using reporting as a foundation for building brand strength, enhancing credibility, and driving change.

We identify what needs to be reported, develop the necessary documentation, ensure the quality of the content, and verify that the reporting complies with relevant guidelines and legal requirements. This applies both to companies reporting for the first time and to those looking to further develop and streamline their reporting processes.

Our work includes workshops, benchmarking, interviews, establishing reporting structures and data‑collection models, as well as analyses such as emissions calculations (see more under Analyze).

We support companies at every stage as needed with…

  • Kick‑starting the work
  • Training and resourcing
  • Initial screening to identify relevant frameworks
  • Stakeholder and market analysis
  • Conducting a double materiality assessment in line with CSRD and/or GRI requirements
  • Gap analysis against legal requirements and frameworks
  • Content development
  • Creation of communicative infographics
  • Project management to a print‑ready report

For sustainability efforts to be value‑driven, transparent, and effective, it is essential that frameworks and guidelines are integrated into the company’s overarching strategies and operations. Sustainability work should contribute positively and help create strong, future‑proof business for a planet in balance.

Double Materiality Assessment
A double materiality assessment involves analyzing both your company’s impact on sustainability and the financial effects of sustainability‑related risks and opportunities on the business. The purpose of the assessment is to understand which sustainability topics are most important for the organization to address and report on. Regardless of whether your company is covered by CSRD, conducting a double materiality assessment is highly beneficial since it helps prioritize the right areas in your sustainability work. 2050 Consulting can support you through all steps required to meet regulatory expectations.

  • Impact Materiality
The first part of the analysis focuses on understanding your company’s impact on society and the planet. At 2050 Consulting, we have deep expertise across multiple sustainability areas and can contribute with industry knowledge, methodology, and technical insight. If desired, we can also involve organizations from the nonprofit sector and academia through our network.

  • Financial Materiality
The financial materiality analysis aims to understand how the planet and society may financially affect your business. By analyzing risks and opportunities, you gain insights into how the organization may need to adapt. We can support this work with methodology and expertise.

Training and Communication
To ensure that the entire organization is aligned throughout the sustainability journey, 2050 Consulting offers tailored training programs for leadership teams, managers, and employees. We provide training on topics such as CSRD, VSME, double materiality assessments, CBAM, and GRI. We also help our clients navigate how sustainability topics can and should be communicated both internally and externally. See our full offering within training and communication.

EU Taxonomy
We support our clients with ongoing advisory services and reporting in accordance with the EU Taxonomy. This includes training initiatives, screenings to identify which economic activities fall under the taxonomy and may contribute to environmental objectives, and guidance on actions that can increase alignment with the taxonomy. We also assist with the practical reporting required within sustainability disclosures.

Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
The GRI Standards are among the most widely used sustainability reporting frameworks globally and cover social, economic, and environmental dimensions. The framework provides a solid structure for a company’s sustainability work and clear, comparable reporting guidelines. 2050 Consulting supports both organizations that are new to GRI and those already reporting according to the standards. Assignments can include full implementation, gap analyses against updated standards, quality assurance of disclosed information, or linking GRI to other reporting frameworks.

Platforms for Reporting and Assessing Sustainability Performance – CDP, Ecovadis, and others
2050 Consulting supports companies in completing reporting through platforms designed to give stakeholders insight into sustainability performance. CDP and Ecovadis are two examples where we can help with data collection, system submissions, preliminary score assessments, gap analyses, and action plans to improve performance.

Climate and NatureRelated Risks (ESRS, TNFD)
We help clients understand, assess, and report climate‑ and nature‑related risks. This may include workshops, introductory sessions, gap analyses against current practices, implementation plans, scenario analyses, follow‑ups, or expert guidance on reporting. We also offer training in biodiversity and nature‑related topics.

CBAM Reporting
All importers of CBAM‑covered goods (steel, iron, aluminum, fertilizers, and cement) must report their imports and climate impact in a dedicated EU registry. At 2050, our team helps companies submit quarterly reports within CBAM’s transitional registry. With extensive experience analyzing product climate impacts, we support companies in assessing exporter data, managing the reporting process, and providing guidance on the regulatory framework.
